MEET OUR TEAM
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Peter McLoughlin is the CEO and Founder of Boston Property Ventures, LLC (BPV). Since beginning the Boston Property Ventures family of companies under the name of Boston Property Development in 2001, Mr. McLoughlin has acquired and developed over $300 million in residential and commercial properties in the Greater Boston area.
Peter began his career in 1996 as a commercial lender at GE Capital. From 1997-1999, he was an analyst at CIBC World Markets (New York) in its Mergers and Acquisitions Group, where he focused on financial modeling, valuation, and the acquisitions and sales of small-to-medium-sized companies ($20MM – 1BN). Peter then served as Vice President of Datek Online Holding Corp. from 1999-2000, where he assisted in raising $800 million in private funding and the development and execution of an international expansion strategy.
A Quincy native, Peter returned to the Boston area in 2001 to found Boston Property Ventures, LLC and begin acquiring real estate. Since then, he has been the managing partner in the acquisition, construction, and development of several hundred residential and commercial units in the Greater Boston Area.
Peter graduated fourth in his class from Northeastern University, from which he holds a B.S. in Finance and Accounting. Peter is a regular speaker at regional real estate seminars and forums, including Marcus & Millichap, Harvard University, and many local real estate investor associations. He regularly volunteers his real estate development and investment expertise to Heading Home, Inc., a Cambridge-based nonprofit devoted to ending homelessness, and serves on the organization’s fundraising committee. In addition, Peter is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Quincy After School Child Care, Inc., a nonprofit organization providing programs on education, nutrition, and health for Quincy children, as well as Board Member of Titus Sparrow Park in Boston’s South End, where he devotes his time to fundraising efforts.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
Blake Cunningham is the Chief Financial Officer at Boston Property Ventures, LLC, where he is responsible for the firm’s finance, accounting, and tax operations.
Blake graduated from Elon University, where he studied accounting and business management. Following graduation from Elon, Blake began his professional career with Ernst and Young in the audit practice within the Boston office. While at Ernst and Young, Blake was promoted to Experienced Senior, which entailed the management and oversight of multiple audit engagements across numerous industries.
Following Ernst and Young, Blake took a consulting role with Corporate Finance Group, Inc. (CFGI) in the Boston office. While with CFGI, Blake was promoted to Consulting Manager and was responsible for execution and oversight of technical accounting projects as well as multiple interim finance and accounting roles.
SVP of Development
Jon Hanson is SVP of Development at Boston Property Ventures, LLC. Since joining BPV in 2013, Jon has been instrumental in the development of over $60MM in successful projects.
Jon has experience designing and managing commercial, institutional and health care projects of different scope and scale upwards of 100,000 square feet. Prior to working at BPV, he worked as a project manager with Silverman Trykowski Associates, Inc., working with various clients such as Jamestown Properties, Steward Health Care, and Gold’s Gym. Prior to joining STA, Jon worked as an Architectural Designer at Menders, Torrey & Spencer, Inc. (MTS) in Boston specializing in architecture and historic preservation. While at MTS, Jon gained experience working with institutional clients such as MIT, Boston University and The Whitehead Institute and working on the preservation of many historic properties including Boston’s Old North Church, H.H. Richardson’s Robert Treat Pain Estate, and Longfellow’s Wayside Inn.
Jon received his Bachelor of Architecture from Boston Architectural College (BAC), where he received the Alpha Rho Chi Medal in recognition of his leadership. He has continued to serve the BAC community in multiple capacities such as the Press Coordinator and member of the construction team for the 2009 BAC/Tufts U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon entry, a member of the BAC’s Board of Trustees, Treasurer of the BAC Alumni Association, member of the Student Development Committee and a Studio Design Instructor.
Senior Financial Analyst
Alex Blake moved to the Boston area from County Meath, Ireland in 2012. He studied Property Economics, Valuation and Surveying at the Dublin Institute of Technology and proceeded to look for opportunities in a fast paced, growing real estate market—which he found with BPV.
Since arriving at Boston Property Ventures, Alex has honed his skills in many of the subsidiary companies. From his start as an Accounts Receivable Specialist for Boston Property Management, LLC (BPM), he graduated to become the Financial Controller for BPM & Solutions Group, Inc. (a rooming house company) as well as moving into a Financial Analyst and Modeling Analyst for Boston Property Ventures.
In his current role, he serves as Financial Controller for BPM, where he oversees the financial side of property management, engages in annual property budgeting, serves as a bank management specialist, and provides monthly and annual reporting packages for all property portfolios as well as handles the preparation of annual tax return files. His role also includes Senior Financial Analyst and Modeling Specialist for BPV, where he identifies profitable projects for development and construction firms, forecasts construction costs and potential sale values for finished projects, and liaises with lending institutions on project financing.
Having come from a farming family and background, Alex has remained grounded and committed in his work. In his short time in Boston, Alex has become quite involved in his local community. For three years he sat on the board of his local GAA (Irish football) team. He’s also an avid golfer and soccer player, having played at University level.
